First trip this year out in the bush.

First time bogged this year!

Tony fixed the public telephone at Cameron Corner and was heading East to Toona Gate on the Middle Road. "That road is alright" said the local, who later pulled us out of the bog.

And to top things off we blew a tyre the next day twenty minutes from home.

Dinner with The Aunties

Aunty Helen and Aunty Sandy ventured up for the weekend.
So we had an Aunties dinnner!

Not a CA$H Crop!

Tony has finally found a way to get something to grow and more importantly to keep it staying alive - Hydroponics.

I've got basil coming out of my ears, now if only I can get the bloody strawberry seeds to sprout!

l30 years and 2 days on Tony is still fixing telephones.

He began working with Telecom, now they're called Telstra.

Our Gnome Is Back!

Our gnome reappeared Australia day as mysteriously as he disappeared a couple of years ago.

Record Lunch

Mum and Dad Scown sold all our old records. With the proceeds we treated ourselves to lunch at a nice local restuarant. As it turned out, brother Brian was in Broken Hill before his move to Sweden.

In The Bush - Jan 2009

We stopped for lunch under a shady tree in 40 degree heat (cooler day) near Cameron Corner. While we were eating an owl was checking us out. Of course by the time we got the camera ready the owl had gone.

New years eve we left home to see the new year in with Our friends in Leasingham. http://www.leasinghamvillagecabins.com.au/ .

New Year's Day we drove off to Lock S.A. to catch-up with other friends. We drove down to beautiful Port Lincoln one day for lunch. On our way home we dropped into Cowell overnight for a oyster fix.

Five day wekend we covered over 1600 kilometres.

Broken Hill History - Syndicate of Seven

Today was the unveiling of the sculptures that depict the seven men who founded Broken Hill when they pegged claims for mining leases along the Line of Lode in 1883.

Kath's Dad is the Great Grandson of one of the Syndicate of Seven.
That means Tony has married into Broken Hill royalty.
